Job Overview:
As a Lunch Break Support Early Years Educator, your role is to provide high-quality care and support to children during the midday period. You will assist with lunch routines, transitions, and play activities, while ensuring that safeguarding, hygiene, and nursery standards are always upheld. You will work closely with the team to provide consistent care and support, particularly during staff lunch breaks, and help maintain a calm, safe, and welcoming environment for the children.
Duties:
- Assist with setting up and clearing away lunch
- Supervise children during mealtimes, ensuring good hygiene
- Help children with feeding or self-care when needed
- Follow toileting, handwashing, and nappy changing procedures
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities after lunch
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care
- Support transitions and maintain a calm routine
- Communicate with staff for effective handovers
- Follow nursery safeguarding and health & safety policies
- Assist with nap time and observe safer sleep procedures
Qualifications:
- Early Years Qualification of Level 2 or above
- If unqualified, at least 2 years experiance working with young children.
Skills:
- Good level of written and spoken English
- Good interactive rapport with children
- Good subject knowledge of the EYFS
- Problem solver
- Mindful Initiative
