Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and promote effective working relationships both internally with colleagues and elected members and externally with all stakeholders so that greater benefits can be realised for the Council and service users through integration, partnerships and collaborative working.
Lead on all of the Department's requirements and ensure the department's systems operate effectively for the business needs.
Ensure we support internal and external processes and support the process of customer orientation and customer care within the service, ensuring that customers' views are built into service planning, delivery and performance.
Lead by example, training, support & maintenance of our systems, whilst promoting smarter ways of working and delivering digital transformation to our operational and support services in line with the software available to demonstrate the department's commitment to providing a more efficient way of working for all our workforce and to enable us to have live data across our services.
Undertake investigations, feasibility studies, analysis, design, programming, component testing, system integration testing, and installation to achieve timely and within budget support and implementation of systems across a wide range of technologies.
To lead on the analysis and reporting of applications requirements and to consult, advise and forward plan to ensure robust and resilient delivery of the department's business critical and business operational systems.
To lead on complex situations and to discuss and advise possible solutions and resolutions and to produce detailed plans for tasks in order that they can be resourced and scheduled.
To be responsible for the delivery of day-to-day priority work within the team and core systems.
To monitor progress including timescales and budgets and to ensure any deviations are reported to the Systems Support Manager to provide timely delivery and to set timescales and deadlines.
To keep abreast of latest developments in the field of IT and provide recommendations to the Department to ensure quality service delivery that is up to date and cost effective, and of improving quality.
Assist in providing cost estimates and delivery timescales to the Director/Heads of Service as required in order to present Divisions with proposals.
