Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional Assistant Chef to join our small kitchen team for the 2026 summer season ahead.
Shifts Tuesday to Friday with the odd weekend shift needed to cover holidays. 25-35 hours available.
The ideal candidate will have had some experience working in restaurants or cafes before and will have the confidence and ability to support the head chef during a busy service prepping, cooking and plating to order.
There are only ever two chefs in the kitchen at a time so it is an intimate set up and can at times be quite a high pressure role as we do get very busy. On busy days the kitchen will do about 100 covers at lunch so you need to be able to keep cool under pressure and produce delicious food at a fast pace.
There is also an outdoor pizza kitchen where we will train you in making wood fired pizzas. Some of your shifts will be in the outdoor kitchen working with one other chef.
This role is perfect for individuals looking to work in a small and close knit team cooking wholesome and fresh food in beautiful surroundings.
The role is seasonal, hours will be very limited by the end of September and we close for the winter in December until February. But the job will be there for you if you want it the next season all being well.
Hours
We are open Tuesday to Sunday and open in the evenings Thurs - Sun. We would have 25-35 hours available for you depending on what you want but we can be flexible to your needs if you need less or more. Hours can be flexible to fit around your commitments.
