Night owls in the York area. We are looking for a team of Night Porters to share the shifts throughout the year.
Shifts available from August 2026 onwards. (A full list of dates can be provided)
Friday and Saturday evenings, with shift planning 6 month to 12 month in advance, so you can plan your shifts for the entire year!

There is a great team at Thicket Priory, it is a beautiful place to work, somewhere to be proud of. We all enjoy working here and want to ensure the success of the events, parties, weddings, filming and photoshoots that take place.
Job role:
Confident, well presented. Safety of the guests throughout the night. Venue & grounds walk rounds, general building checks. Some light tasks, ready to handover to the housekeeping team in the morning. Manual handling, setting up including moving tables and chairs.
5 star standards, ensuring the building and surroundings are kept homely, neat and tidy.
Hours and Pay : Fridays 11pm to 7am ~ Saturdays 11pm to 7am. The hours available are therefore 16 hours over the weekend, sharing the weekends between a team. Minimum of 16 hours per month.
The Hourly rate is £17-£20 per hour depending upon experience. Occasional midweek weddings/events with hours also available.
Driving Licence essential as you will need to commute to Thicket Priory , the bus service is not regular at our location, YO19 6DE.
Night porting experience preferred but not essential, training can be provided, however politeness and general warmth are a must.
