Renewable Future Wales Ltd
Location: Pembrokeshire and surrounding areas
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Pay: Depending on experience
About us
Renewable Future Wales installs air source heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage and EV chargers across Pembrokeshire and beyond.
We are a growing local business with full-time office support, organised job packs and a strong pipeline of work.
The role
We are looking for an experienced plumbing and heating installer to join our team, primarily installing complete air source heat pump heating systems.
Most of our installations use Vaillant air source heat pumps. Previous heat pump experience is desirable but not essential. We are more interested in someone who is already confident installing radiators, pipework, cylinders and complete wet central heating systems, and who can quickly learn the differences between heat pumps and traditional oil or gas boilers.
Each project is supplied with a full drawing pack, system design and organised materials. You will normally work alongside another plumber, with electrical support provided.
The role includes installing, testing, balancing and commissioning the heating system before our office and technical team complete the final quality check and customer handover.
Main responsibilities
- Install complete air source heat pump heating systems
- Install radiators, pipework and unvented hot water cylinders
- Install pumps, valves, filters and associated components
- Work accurately from installation drawings and specifications
- Fill, flush, pressure-test and balance systems
- Commission systems to manufacturer and company standards
- Complete installation and commissioning records
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional standard of work
Essential experience
- Experience installing domestic wet central heating systems
- Confident installing radiators and heating pipework
- Experience installing complete systems, not only servicing and repairs
- Ability to follow drawings and technical specifications
- Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable qualifications and experience
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating
- G3 unvented hot water qualification
- F-Gas qualification
- Refrigeration or air-conditioning NVQ
- Air source heat pump experience
- Experience with Vaillant aroTHERM systems
- Underfloor heating experience
- Gas or oil qualifications
An F-Gas qualification is preferred, although support may be available for the right candidate to complete the course.
Working hours
The standard working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Occasional overtime may be required to complete installations. Additional work outside normal hours is generally voluntary and provides an opportunity to earn extra, with many members of the team choosing to take this up.
