We are looking for a hardworking, friendly and customer focused person to join our front of house team. You would be working both in the restaurant but also being able to deal with reception duties and general customer care.
We have been included in the Top Ten New Forest Hotels by the Telegraph, 250 Best Hotels in the UK, Thirty best country hotels in The Times and 40 of the best hotels and Inns in the Guardian. There are 15 bedrooms, a 40 seat restaurant and 4 acres of gardens. Located in the village of Sway we are a few miles from Lymington and Brockenhurst, both being easy to access via public transport.
The restaurant and bar currently serve breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. The hotel also caters for functions including weddings, anniversary and birthday parties. We also host music evenings and local events.
The Front of House Manager duties include the following:
- To oversee the day to day activities of a small country hotel in the New Forest.
- To ensure good service standards.
- To monitor cleanliness and maintenance issues.
- To liaise with different departments.
- To facilitate ordering for the front of house.
- To assist in management of functions.
- To ensure all our guests are being looked after in the proper manner.
- To train staff.
- The job is a hands on role and requires someone with good energy.
- To help in the active promotion of the hotel as a wedding venue including conducting wedding tours and securing bookings.
The job entails working across the reception and restaurant. It must be stressed that its a small business and requires someone who will be fully hands on and directing the team as necessary to carry out their tasks in an efficient manner and supporting the owners as and where needed.
