Our Head Office is based on the Rotherwas Industrial Estate in Hereford, employing over 57 colleagues across extrusion, printing, and slitting operations. In 2021, we expanded with the acquisition of our second manufacturing site at Baglan Energy Park, Port Talbot, where more than 56 employees operate multiple extrusion lines and conversion facilities.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment reliability and factory performance. This role requires expertise in multiple engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, and sometimes even software or HVAC systems.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery.
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of plant and equipment.
- Work closely with production teams to improve machine performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the company's maintenance system.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with Health & Safety regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.
- Assist with stock control of engineering spares and consumable
- Ensure maintenance and engineering practices comply with BRC requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Recognized Engineering Qualification
- 3+ years industrial electrical/mechanical experience.
- Mechanical and fabrication experience beneficial.
- Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical & pneumatic drawings
- Knowledge of electronics and P.L.C’s.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience in Print/paper/film conversion desirable
- Excellent communication & numerical skills
- Ability to use own initiative & good organisational skills
- Ability to manage and deal with change in a fast moving and demanding environment whilst still maintaining standards set within the business
- An individual that can continue to make improvements and upgrades to increase production and improve safety.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial
- A full UK driving licence and a valid FLT counter balance certificate are preferred

- Hours: . Shifts are 8am – 4pm, 6am – 2pm, 4pm – Midnight (On call one week in three)

- Salary: £18.03 per hour - plus overtime available and on call allowance / call out payment
