Overview
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and organised Site Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of new-build residential developments of up to 10 flats.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can confidently manage all aspects of site operations from start to completion. You will coordinate subcontractors, oversee quality, programme and health & safety, interpret construction drawings, carry out setting out, and ensure works are completed to a high standard.
You will be supported by our dedicated head office team, including Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Finance and Administration, allowing you to focus on the successful delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day running of the construction site.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Carry out setting out and site measurements.
Plan and coordinate labour, materials and subcontractors.
Ensure works are completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
Liaise with clients, consultants, Building Control and utility providers.
Monitor progress against the programme and resolve site issues.
Maintain site records, progress reports and health & safety documentation.
Coordinate inspections, testing and project handovers.
Work closely with the office team to ensure efficient procurement, commercial control and project administration.
Identify potential risks and implement practical solutions to keep the project on track.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and professionalism on site.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 8 years' experience in the construction industry, including at least 3 years as a Site Manager.
Proven experience delivering new-build residential developments (houses or apartment blocks of up to 10 flats).
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Excellent setting out skills.
Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and health & safety requirements.
Degree or HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (preferred).
SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card and First Aid at Work certificates.
Full UK driving licence.
