Purpose of the role:
The Training Manager will lead the development, coordination and quality assurance of Ashtons’ education and training offer for clinicians and healthcare customers.
The role will assess current training provision and define a scalable future strategy that supports customer adoption, engagement and commercial growth.
Working with clinical subject matter experts, the role will develop and assure high-quality learning content across eLearning, virtual, seminar and face-to-face formats, supported by appropriate systems and tools.
Clinical qualification is not essential; however, candidates with relevant clinical experience may deliver training within their specialism where appropriate.
Success criteria by the end of the fixed term appointment:
- Completed a structured review of current training provision, processes, systems and materials.
- Defined business and user requirements for training booking and management capability.
- Produced a training strategy, eLearning implementation plan and content roadmap aligned to organisational objectives.
- Established governance and quality assurance processes for training content and materials.
- Developed a timetable with clinicians and subject matter experts to review and standardise clinical training materials.
- Created plans to increase customer awareness, engagement and uptake of training services.
Principal Accountabilities:
Training Strategy & Development
- Review current education and training provision.
- Develop a customer education roadmap aligned to onboarding, competency and ongoing learning needs.
- Establish standards, governance and quality assurance processes for all educational content.
Learning Content & eLearning
- Design and oversee engaging educational content for clinicians and healthcare professionals.
- Enhance existing resources so they are clinically fit, aligned with national quality standards and consistent with best practice.
- Develop a structured eLearning content plan and support implementation or enhancement of the learning platform.
- Ensure materials remain accurate, compliant and aligned with adult learning principles.
Collaboration with key stakeholders
- Partner with clinicians and subject matter experts to develop evidence-based materials aligned to organisational standards.
- Translate complex clinical information into clear, engaging learning resources.
Programme Management
- Manage the end-to-end customer training programme, including webinars, workshops, training sessions and learner communications.
- Manage timelines to deliver agreed milestones within the six-month term.
- Establish a user feedback mechanism and promote engagement with it.
Training Systems
- Capture requirements for training booking, management and reporting capability.
- Work with digital and technology teams to support delivery of the required systems.
- Recommend improvements to training administration and performance reporting.
Commercial Development
- Identify opportunities to expand and monetise training services.
- Work with commercial teams to increase participation and revenue opportunities.
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in management of learning, training or education programmes.
- Knowledge of LMS, digital learning platforms and adult learning methodologies.
- Experience working with subject matter experts to develop high-quality learning content.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and programme management skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience in healthcare, medical technology or clinical education.
- Clinical qualification or professional healthcare registration.
- Experience delivering education to clinicians or healthcare professionals.
Pay: Up to £48,000.00 per year
