Casting Operatives and Steel Fixer Required for immediate start - Hoo, Rochester
Join a growing team delivering high‑quality bespoke stonework for restoration projects. We are looking for reliable, hardworking operatives to work in our precast stone yard in Hoo, Rochester. Casting Operative - Key Responsibilities
· Striking, cleaning and setting moulds
· Working with power tools, both manual and powered
· Manual handling - lifting, carrying and stacking stones
· Finishing stonework to a high standard ready for delivery to site
· Tidying and general housekeeping of workshop and outside areas
Structural Steelworker – Key Responsibilities
· Cutting and shaping steel rebar to form a structural cage to strengthen the concrete in the moulded units
· Setting the structural cage into the moulds
· The ability to read and interpret drawingsi
· The ability to take accurate measurements
· Have an eye for detail
Requirements for both roles
· Previous experience in a labouring or manual handling role is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
· Must be physically fit and have the stamina to carry out manual work throughout the day
· Reliable, punctual and willing to learn new skills
· Able to work as part of a team
· Due to site location applicants must have their own reliable transport to cover their journey to and from work
· Applicants will be required to have their own steel toecap work boots however all other PPE will be provided
· An awareness of health and safety procedures
These are ongoing positions, working five days a week from Monday to Friday starting at 7.30am with a 4.30pm finish.
Successful applicants will start on a basic pay scale for an initial trial period, working via the CIS scheme on a self-employed basis. Satisfactory references will be requested for successful candidates.
