TRAINEE SITE MANAGER – CONSTRUCTION/GLAZING

Optimus Architectural Ltd is currently expanding, and we are looking to recruit a trainee site manager to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in construction, specifically glazing or general site management, and who is looking to develop a long-term career. As part of a rapidly expanding company with an excellent reputation in the industry, you will play a key role in helping to ensure every project is delivered to the highest standards of quality and workmanship. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and support from experienced team members, with the opportunity to progress as their skills and confidence grow.
A full UK driving licence would be necessary due to regular site visits.
Previous experience in construction, glazing, aluminium systems, or working on site would be useful, but attitude, reliability, communication skills, and willingness to learn are most important.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn from experienced personnel to manage and install glazing systems to our high standards
Based in Newark with regular travel to project sites, so a full UK driving licence is required
Liaise with subcontractors and contractors
Manage the supply and installation of aluminium windows and doors to precise specifications
Working as part of a skilled and experienced team
Ensuring quality control and adherence to safety standards
The Ideal Candidate:
Knowledge of the glazing industry or experience within the construction industry is a plus, though full training will be provided to the right candidate
Being reasonably fit and active is an asset as you will be working on construction sites, not just office-based
Professional demeanour at all times as you will be representing the company
Good maths and English skills
Willingness to learn
Good communicator
Confident person able to give and receive instructions
Practical problem-solving
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently
An enthusiastic team player with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
Good time keeping and reliability are essential
Additional Information:
Full-time position, working 40 hours per week
Standard working hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m to 5.00 p.m, Friday 8:00 a.m to 4.00 p.m
Salary subject to negotiation
Full on-the-job training will be provided, with opportunities to develop into a site manager position
