Support Officer
Overview
Qualitas provides tenancy-related support to vulnerable adults living in self-contained accommodation. Our aim is to help people move from dependence to independence through structured, person-centred support.
As a Support Officer, you will deliver floating support to adults who may be experiencing mental health needs, recovery from substance use, or difficulty managing a tenancy. The focus is on tenancy sustainment, independence, and positive outcomes.
This is a community-based, lone-working role with a high degree of autonomy. It does not involve personal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of residents, delivering planned support in their homes
- Complete needs assessments, support plans, and risk assessments
- Support residents with tenancy sustainment, including budgeting, bills, and appointments
- Carry out welfare checks and property visits
- Manage non-engagement, tenancy breaches, and anti-social behaviour
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns
- Maintain accurate case records and reports
- Liaise with housing providers and partner agencies

We support adults who need structured support to maintain accommodation and progress towards independence, including those experiencing mental health needs, substance use recovery, or disengagement from services.

Residents engage with support and progress towards independence
- Risks and tenancy issues are identified and managed effectively
- Support plans and records are accurate and up to date
- Residents are better able to sustain their tenancy
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience working with vulnerable adults
- Ability to support tenancy sustainment and promote independence
- Strong written and communication skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and risk management
- Ability to manage a caseload independently
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
- Knowledge of housing or supported accommodation
- Experience with mental health or substance use support
- Relevant qualification in housing, support, or social care
