We provide both on-site and off-site reprocessing services, along with reliable instrument maintenance solutions. We are currently seeking a Repair Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team and receive world-class training, setting you on a defined career pathway.

This role will be based in Northampton, so relocation will be offered to a successful candidate

Working hours

Full-time, 40 hrs per week on Monday-Friday at 800-1630.

What's involved

The Repair Technician at STERIS IMS plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing surgical instruments, ensuring their functionality and safety. This involves a range of hands-on tasks, from intricate repairs to equipment maintenance, demanding both technical aptitude and physical capability. This is a hands-on role that involves a variety of physical activity, including standing, walking, and sitting, as needed to complete tasks. It also requires the ability to lift and manipulate heavier tools and machinery, including presses.

Repairing various medical devices to meet quality standards.
Participating in training sessions and recording notes to stay updated with techniques and technologies.
Caring for and maintaining assigned equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper storage.
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
Operating specialised equipment like presses, soldering irons, and laser machines with precision.
Managing devices throughout the repair process, ensuring proper handling and tracking.
Prioritising tasks based on urgency and importance.
Communicating professionally with team members and leadership.
Liaising with the stockroom for necessary parts.
Maintaining punctuality and reporting absences promptly.
Handling small objects with precision and dexterity.
Demonstrating strength and precision with tools and equipment, including heavier machinery.

Required Experience

Endoscopes repairing experince
Ability to handle small objects with precision and use tweezers.
Physical dexterity and mechanical skills.
Strength and precision in handling tools and equipment.

Preferred Experience

Excellent hearing for detecting subtle machinery or operational issues.
Familiarity with machinery operation.
Proficiency in using a soldering station.
Attention to detail and computer proficiency.
Experience working with pliers.
Strong organisational skills and problem-solving abilities.
Effective teamwork and communication skills.
