Factory Technician
Full Time, Monday to Friday, Based in Erith/Belvedere border
40 hour week
Annual Salary: £24,500 - £27,000 with progression opportunities.

Meridian Technical Services, based in Erith, is a busy and growing company specialising in the periodic refurbishing, pressure testing and refilling of industrial fire suppressant cylinders. We are looking for Technicians to join our team.
In this hands on environment, the role incorporates a range of duties including the cleaning and preparation of large cylinders for pressure testing before moving to our in house paint shop for finishing. Each cylinder's valve is removed and requires complex maintenance before being refitted to a cylinder ready for filling with specialist fire suppression (inert) gasses or clean agents.
Cylinders processed through the factory are typically at least 5ft tall with various circumferences and the lightest weighing around 20kg. Our Technicians are required to safely move cylinders in between work stations using safe handling techniques and manual handling aids. Technicians will also help load and unload cylinders to/from stillages and vehicles.
We are looking to fill our roles with multiskilled individuals, however, for the right candidate, we can also consider specialists – such as spray painters or yard or stock control individuals.
Essential skills:
- Hands on experience using basic tools and machinery, preferably in a workplace setting but we will also consider experience gained through hobbies and interests.
- Counterbalance forklift training would be an advantage but full training will be given.
- Ability to follow a process and recognise anything that does not fit.
- Good communication skills.
Two fixed shift patterns available - these are permanent and do not rotate:
Days - 40 hour - Monday to Friday
- Mon-Thurs 7am-4pm (45 min break)
- Fri 7am-2:45pm (45 min break)
Twilight - 40 hour - Monday to Friday + 20% Shift Allowance
- Mon-Thurs 1pm - 10pm (45 min break)
- Fri 1pm - 8.45pm (45 min break)
This is a Full-time, Permanent role
Pay: £26,500.00-£29,000.00 per year
