· Job Overview:
Froude Limited, a manufacturer of highly-engineered engine testing products, is seeking a Project Manager to provide negotiation support to the sales team for major new projects and major after-market projects as necessary.
You will be working alongside and provided with on the job training from Manager of project management, experienced senior Production controllers and Engineers.
We design, develop and manufacture engine dynamometer products and systems. Our customers include Ford, GM, Rolls Royce, Volkswagen, Siemens, GE, Pratt & Whitney and a variety of other major international companies. Froude is headquartered in Novi, Michigan USA and we have a manufacturing center in Worcester, United Kingdom.
The Role:
- To co-ordinate all communications between the customer and the Company efficiently and conform to the requirements of the ISO procedure.
- To pro-actively lead and co-ordinate activity of both internal and external resource in order for contractual obligations to be met satisfactorily. Additionally to continually monitor and be responsible for both actual and estimated project expenditure and where variances exist ensure investigation and identification of remedial measures where necessary.
- To minimise the Company’s exposure to liabilities and:Maximize project efficiency and profitability
- Identify project responsibilities, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate personnel
- Develop and control the full project-plan lifecycle
- To attend the Project Handover meeting and complete the project programme template using Microsoft Project software.
- To coordinate and chair the Project Startup meeting, ensuring the project record is signed and agreed actions arising from the meeting completed.
- To regularly review project performance at the Weekly Project Status meetings and also report to senior management at the monthly project reviews.
- To effectively negotiate and record customer project variations ensuring relevant internal departments are notified in a timely manner.
- To arrange on-time invoicing and expedite payment receipts so as to minimise overdue invoices.
- Utilise and update the Company “Visiblity” and Access database systems as required during the course of executing the defined responsibilities. Additionally, a master project file should be maintained according to the requirements of the ISO procedure.
- Oversee the compilation of Quality documentation packs for issue to client at project close-out.
Other General Duties
- To assist other Department members with their workload during periods of holiday, sickness or heavy overload, and undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager of Project Management.
- Travel to site and to client’s premises, including frequent overseas travel will be required in fulfilment of the Project Engineer’s duties
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to use own initiative, to work within budgets and to deadlines.
- Cross-functional working experience
- Microsoft office experience
- Understanding of compliance and quality assurance guidelines and best practices
- Manufacturing / Engineering experience preferred.
- Dynamometer or precision high speed rotating equipment experienced preferred.
