Job Summary
We're an independent, community-focused café-restaurant in Bulwell, Nottingham, known for honest, well-cooked food and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Through the week, we serve homemade classics; weekends are for Sunday lunches, brunches, and themed food nights.
We're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic barista to join our small front-of-house team, starting at approximately 15-25 hours per week, with the potential to grow with us.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages to a high standard
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment correctly and safely
- Take customer orders and deliver friendly, efficient table and counter service
- Support the team during busy service periods
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming front-of-house environment
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately
- Assist with stock checks and replenishment of café supplies
Skills
- Proven barista experience is essential
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and espresso-based drinks
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Food hygiene awareness is an advantage
