Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dog Walker to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional care and exercise for dogs in their neighbourhoods, ensuring they receive the attention and physical activity they need. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animals, organised, and capable of handling various breeds and sizes of dogs. Responsibilities
- Take dogs on scheduled walks in local neighbourhoods, parks, or designated routes
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs during walks, monitoring their behaviour and health
- Provide basic companionship and engagement to keep dogs happy and stimulated
- Clean up after dogs, including disposal of waste in accordance with hygiene standards
- Communicate directly with the business manager regarding all clients, and updates of the walks and schedules.
- Assist with additional pet care tasks as required, such as feeding or administering medication (if trained) - training can be provided upon completion of the mandatory probationary period.
Experience
- Previous experience with animal care or dog walking is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of veterinary practices or animal health is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills regarding daily updates.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as handling leashes or assisting with larger dogs
- Passion for animals and a responsible attitude towards their safety and comfort.
- A driving licence and own transport is essential for this job role.
