Hours: 40 hours per week, day shifts (exact shifts to be confirmed)
Pay: £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.00 per hour following the probationary period

Job Summary: We are looking for a proactive and personable Medical Receptionist / Chaperone to support the daily operations of our clinic in Penarth. This role involves front desk duties, patient communication, appointment handling, clerical support for clinical staff, and acting as a chaperone for patients during clinical appointments.
Main Duties:
During training period:
- Answering phone calls
- Managing admin tasks
Ongoing role:
- Open and close the clinic following protocols
- Greet and assist patients in a professional, courteous manner
- Manage incoming calls, appointments, and visit requests
- Pass messages accurately and follow up on outstanding queries
- Liaise with clinical staff, healthcare providers, and patients
- Perform basic cleaning duties to maintain a tidy environment
- Chaperone patients during medical appointments and minor surgical procedures when needed, ensuring their comfort and dignity
- Uphold patient confidentiality and clinic policies at all times
- Provide reception cover during staff absence as needed

- Computer literate — confident and effective use of computers, software, and our internal systems
- Previous experience in a reception or healthcare setting is desirable
- Understanding of patient dignity and the supportive role of a chaperone is a plus
Desirable (bonus, not essential):
- Ability to create social media content — a plus if the candidate can do this, but not a requirement
