The Opportunity
We’re looking for a proven Contracts Manager to take full ownership of multiple projects from pre-construction through to handover. You’ll lead delivery teams, inspire subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards — all while maintaining strong client relationships.
This is a leadership role where you’ll have real autonomy, visibility with directors, and the chance to shape how projects are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Client Management
- Lead site teams and subcontractors to deliver exceptional results
- Act as the primary client contact and build long-term relationships
- Oversee handovers to the Aftercare Manager
Programme & Delivery
- Manage and monitor project programmes (Asta Powerproject & Excel)
- Coordinate trades and ensure efficient sequencing of works
- Review and update progress weekly
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all works meet CDM, H&S, and statutory standards
- Act as (or train towards) Temporary Works Coordinator
- Maintain project risk registers
Quality & Technical
- Oversee QA inspections and snagging processes
- Coordinate design approvals, RFIs, and subcontractor design packages
- Lead design and technical meetings
Reporting & Documentation
- Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for directors and clients
- Maintain risk registers, QA documentation, and temporary works records
- Present contractor’s reports and social value trackers at client meetings
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years as a Contracts Manager (or similar) with a main contractor
- Experience delivering projects £150k–£4m across multiple sectors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple sites
- Commercial awareness and collaboration with QS teams
- Proficiency in project management tools (Asta Powerproject preferred)
- Relevant qualifications: Construction Management, SMSTS, CSCS (training support available)
