Ugly Dumpling is a fast-paced, fun casual dining concept serving global fusion dumplings inspired by the Far East alongside bold new favourites such as cheeseburger dumplings and mushroom & truffle. We combine great food, creative cocktails and a relaxed atmosphere to create an easy dining experience for everyone – including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests.
We are currently looking for reliable and motivated kitchen team members to join us for an immediate start.
Some kitchen experience is required. Full training will be provided, but you must be confident working in a busy environment and ready to take responsibility from day one.
Your Role
This is a hands-on kitchen position. You will be involved in the full preparation and service process.
Your responsibilities will include:
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Preparing ingredients (chopping, mixing, marinating, portioning)
- Making dumpling fillings, sauces and other recipes from scratch
- Cooking and assembling dishes according to company standards
- Maintaining consistency in taste, presentation and portion control
- Supporting service during busy periods
Kitchen Operations
- Following all health & safety and food hygiene procedures
- Ensuring food quality remains consistently high
- Completing daily checklists and temperature logs
- Rotating stock correctly and reducing waste
- Reporting any equipment issues promptly
Cleaning & Organisation
- Washing pots, pans and kitchen equipment
- Cleaning food preparation areas, surfaces, walls and floors
- Keeping the storeroom organised and tidy
- Unloading and storing deliveries correctly
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times
