Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and safety in mind.
Here at Boxsmith we not only convert shipping containers, we also build completely bespoke to specification. You will work from technical drawings and collaborate with the fabrication team to deliver high-quality finished units.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding and other welding techniques to join metal parts accurately and efficiently
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other materials
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise fabrication and assembly
- Conduct quality checks throughout the welding and fabrication process to maintain high standards
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or structures
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes
Requirements
- 5 years experience with MIG welding and welding techniques
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations
- Familiarity with sheet metal work, assembly processes, and mechanical principles
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Basic understanding of safety practices related to welding and fabrication environments
- Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
