Position: Travel Advisor Team Leader
Reporting to: Tour Operations Manager & Sales and Marketing Manager
Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, every other Saturday
Roles to include:
- Lead, motivate and support the Travel Advisor team to deliver outstanding customer service
- Manage daily workloads and ensure efficient department operations
- Provide expert travel advice, handle customer enquiries, and process bookings both face-to-face and via telephone
- Drive sales performance by identifying opportunities to increase revenue and promote travel products and services.
- Act as the first point of escalation for customer complaints and complex enquiries
- Maintain a well-organised and fully stocked travel office, ensuring the availability of brochures, itineraries, promotional materials, and other essential resources.
- Manage customer payments, including deposits and balances, through cash and card transactions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
- Complete end-of-day financial reconciliations and banking procedures, ensuring accurate record-keeping and cash handling.
- Support marketing initiatives through the effective use of social media platforms to engage customers and promote products, services, and special offers.
Person Specification:
Essential
- Previous experience working in a travel agency, tour operator, or travel sales environment
- Proven experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle complaints and resolve issues effectively
- Excellent communication
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and peak travel periods where required.
Desirable
- Experience in a Team Leader, Assistant Manager, or Senior Travel Advisor role.
- Knowledge of a wide range of travel destinations
- Ability to analyse sales performance and identify growth opportunities
