DSF Refractories and Minerals Ltd is an independent refractory manufacturer and processor of refractory minerals, based in the Peak District of Derbyshire.
We are specialist suppliers to the Glass Industry and have a wide range of products used in most heat containment industries including; Petrochemical production, Carbon Black, Steel, Lime kilns and many other specialist applications. DSF is the largest shaped refractory manufacturer in the UK, and is recognised as one of the world's leading suppliers of bonded refractories for the glass industry.
The company was established over 125 years ago. Our UK plant capacity is currently about 50,000 tonnes per year, with an annual turnover of about £22 million.
DSF employs around 150 skilled and experienced people in our Derbyshire factory and consider our employees to be one of the major attributes of the company.
Key member of the Compliance team reporting to Russ Ferns.
· Develop and implement SHQ policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
· Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
· Become the lead contact for the organisations ongoing ISO: 9001 accreditation.
· Work closely with the compliance team manager and SHE officer to attain and maintain all regulatory and industry standards. Such as but not limited to: ISO: 14001, 45001, and 50001.
· Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with SHEQ standards.
· Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
· Provide training and support to employees on SHQ matters. Acting as a coach and
mentor where required.
· Monitor and report on SHQ performance metrics and KPIs.
· Collaborate with other departments to integrate SHQ considerations into all business processes.
· Identify potential risks and opportunities to the organisation through diligent work methods.
· Complete risk assessments, Quality reports and site inspections.
· Champion workplace improvements.
· Ensure all safety and quality standards are embedded into all levels of the organisation.
· Conduct presentations.
· Monitoring quality impacts.
· Develop and review safety and quality policies and procedures.
· Liaising with inspectors.
· Undertake training as a Safety, Health, Quality adviser leading to a nationally recognised qualification and accreditation.
· Carry out any other reasonable task within the team for which training has been received.
