Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Cook to prepare nutritious and appealing meals for young children in our nursery setting. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals and snacks suitable for children in accordance with dietary guidelines and nutritional standards
- Assist with meal planning, ensuring a balanced diet that caters to specific dietary needs or allergies
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when replenishment is necessary
- Follow all hygiene protocols during food handling, preparation, and storage
- Assist with serving meals to children in a friendly and efficient manner
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use
- Support the overall cleanliness of the nursery kitchen environment
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles, preferably within a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in meal preparation for young children
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
- Familiarity with culinary techniques suitable for preparing child-friendly meals
- Experience with serving food in a professional setting is desirable
