Around The World Travel is opening a new retail travel shop at Longacres Garden Centre, Ashford, and we are looking for a highly experienced Travel Shop Manager to help build the business from the ground up.
This is much more than a management role.
We're looking for an experienced travel professional with the confidence, leadership and passion to build a successful retail travel business, develop an exceptional team and create an outstanding customer experience.
The Role
As Travel Shop Manager you will:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the travel shop.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and holiday sales.
- Recruit, mentor and develop an experienced team of Travel Consultants.
- Drive sales performance and help grow the business.
- Work closely with the Directors to shape the future of Around The World Travel.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer service, professionalism and compliance.
About You
We're looking for an experienced travel professional who enjoys making decisions, taking ownership and getting things done.
You won't be someone who simply follows the way things have always been done. You'll enjoy bringing fresh ideas, challenging convention and helping us build a modern, customer-focused travel agency.
You will have significant experience working within a retail travel agency, together with previous experience as a Manager, Assistant Manager or Senior Travel Consultant.
You'll be commercially minded, highly organised and motivated by delivering exceptional customer service while driving sales and business growth.
Knowledge of cruises, long-haul, luxury holidays, tailor-made itineraries and worldwide travel would be a distinct advantage.
Most importantly, you'll be a natural leader who enjoys developing people, inspiring a team, building long-term customer relationships and creating a positive, successful working environment.

What We Offer
- £30,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 2% bonus on personal sales when target is achieved.
- 5% bonus on personal sales above target.
- 40-hour working week.

Support From Day One
You won't be expected to build the business on your own.
The Directors, will work alongside you, supporting recruitment, marketing, customer generation and shop cover whenever required.
Our next key appointment will be a full-time Senior Travel Consultant, who will work alongside you to help lead the team and support the day-to-day operation of the shop.
We are also investing heavily in marketing, local partnerships and direct mail campaigns to ensure a steady flow of customers from the outset.
