Oddfellows Chester is looking for a reliable and hardworking Weekend Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team.
As an independent boutique hotel, restaurant and events venue, our weekends are lively and varied, with afternoon teas, Sunday lunches, weddings, parties and private events.
The Role
You will play an essential part in keeping our kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Washing dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and kitchen equipment
- Keeping washing-up and kitchen areas clean and tidy
- Cleaning floors, work surfaces and storage areas
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly
- Helping to receive and store deliveries
- Supporting the chefs with simple food-preparation tasks when required
- Following all food hygiene, health and safety procedures
- Ensuring clean equipment is returned quickly during busy services
- Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team
- Can work efficiently in a busy environment
- Takes pride in maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness
- Is comfortable with the physical demands of the role
- Is available to work weekends, including Saturdays, Sundays and occasional evenings
- Has previous kitchen experience, although full training can be provided
Hours and Pay
- Part-time weekend position
- Saturday and Sunday shifts, with occasional additional hours available
- £12.71 per hour
- Hours will vary depending on the needs of the business
