Patient Coordinator

Salary: £27,560 per annum (£13.25 per hour), we are also recruiting a reception team leader which will have a higher salary.

Midland Health is a leading Private GP and Consultant Clinic in the Midlands. Our flagship clinic is based in Edgbaston, where this role will be located. This is a customer-facing position, providing a warm welcome to everyone attending our clinic. Whether at the front desk or responding to telephone and email enquiries, your upbeat and positive personality will shine through, helping to put our patients at ease.
We are seeking a highly motivated Patient Coordinator to join our small and welcoming reception team.
This is a full-time 40 hours per week, permanent position working Tuesday to Saturday. Shifts will be worked between 8.00am and 9pm Tuesday to Friday, and 8.00am to 4.30pm on Saturdays. Please note that Saturday working is a requirement of this role. We would consider part time applicants as part of a job share.
For the reception team leader the role is 40 hours Mon-Fri with 1 in 4 saturdays.
The ideal applicant will have excellent literacy and IT skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. It is important that you understand and embrace the responsibilities of the role.
As this position is focused on engaging with patients, both by telephone and face-to-face, we require someone who is calm, courteous, professional and an excellent communicator. You should be able to work on your own initiative, remain organised in a busy environment, and provide an exceptional level of customer service at all times.
Previous customer service experience is essential, and GP reception experience would be an advantage.
Main duties include:
- Reception duties, including meeting and greeting patients and taking payments.
- Checking invoices ahead of appointments and ensuring all items invoiced after the appointment.
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with a range of patient enquiries.
- Booking appointments and follow-up appointments (lead generation).
- Processing prescription requests.
- Supporting GPs and Consultants during clinics.
- Scanning and uploading documents.
- Processing referrals to external agencies.
- Using the in-house patient management system.
- Responding promptly to email enquiries.
- Maintaining accurate patient records.
