This is a 3-month contract role supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of Council-led outdoor events across Redditch and Bromsgrove. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of safe, well-organised, inclusive, and professionally managed events. Working closely with internal services, contractors, emergency services, community organisations, and external event organisers, you will support all aspects of event planning and operational delivery. The role requires strong leadership, project management, and partnership-working skills to coordinate internal services, contractors, emergency services, and external event organisers.

Support the planning and delivery of Council-led outdoor events.

Assist in the development of event plans, schedules, and delivery programmes.

Coordinate event logistics to ensure successful event delivery.

Monitor progress against plans and deadlines.

Assist in developing event management documentation and operational plans.

Liaise with internal departments, contractors, partner organisations, and community groups.

Build positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
-
Support communication between all parties involved in event delivery.

Work collaboratively with emergency services and external agencies where required.

Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and service providers involved in events.

Monitor contractor performance and compliance requirements.

Ensure services are delivered in accordance with agreed specifications and timescales.

Assist with procurement and contractor management processes where required.

Support the implementation of event health and safety procedures.

Assist in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and event documentation.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Promote safe working practices at all times.

Provide operational support during events.

Assist with event set-up, delivery, and breakdown activities.

Monitor event activities and address issues as they arise.

Support the delivery of a positive experience for attendees and stakeholders.

Support multiple events and projects simultaneously.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and event files.
-
Monitor budgets, expenditure, and project timelines where required.

Produce reports and updates for managers and stakeholders.

Contribute to post-event reviews and evaluations.

Identify opportunities to improve event delivery and customer experience.

Support the development of future events and community engagement initiatives.

Requirements:

Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.
-
Qualification in Event Management, Project Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Understanding of event planning and delivery processes.

Knowledge of health and safety requirements relating to public events.

Understanding of stakeholder and contractor management.
-
Knowledge of project coordination and administration practices.
-
Knowledge of local authority event delivery.

Understanding of outdoor event regulations and licensing requirements.

Awareness of community engagement and public sector service delivery.

Experience supporting or coordinating events.
