Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all workshop repairs, maintaining equipment standards, troubleshooting, and improving workshop equipment and systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency. The Workshop Engineer will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of workshop activities, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- To manage the workshop repairs process, ensuring warranty repairs are repaired through the manufacturer, and equipment outside warranty is processed and repaired in a timely manner.
- To ensure standards of housekeeping, organisation and Health & safety are maintained.
- To carry out electronic / mechanical repairs and routine maintenance at component level to hire stock equipment.
- To assist and support with any customer installations
- To source spare parts of equipment and maintain stock levels of electronic components and spares.
- To modify and custom make electronic equipment as necessary.
- To ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- To provide technical support for customers both onsite, in the warehouse and over the phone
- To liaise with equipment manufacturers for technical support.
- To undertake technical training either in-person or online to ensure knowledge is kept up to date.
- To maintain business unit security at all times, both physical and cyber security.
- Any other duties to support Terry Tew Sound & Light Ltd.
Requirements
- Proven experience (10 Years) in mechanical or electrical engineering within a workshop environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to workshop operations.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, capable of working collaboratively within a team setting.
- Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
- A proactive approach towards learning new technologies and continuous professional development is highly valued.
Pay: £35,000.00-£37,500.00 per year
