We are seeking to recruit a creative therapist and a play therapist to join the KORU Project CIC in West Dorset.
The KORU Project CIC is an established team of arts therapists, teachers and mentors working within an attachment and trauma-informed practice. We are dedicated to supporting children, young people, adults, and families to achieve positive mental health outcomes through individually-tailored therapeutic support. Our practice is person-centred, creative and compassionate. We offer a wide range of specialisms including art, music, play and drama therapy; sports mentoring; Forest School and bespoke specialist provision in education.
Responsibilities:
You will support children, adolescents, and young adults across Weymouth/Portland/Bridport/West Dorset with building resilience and emotional coping skills to manage mental health difficulties deriving from developmental and/or attachment trauma. Fostering an empathetic, warm, and creative approach, you will facilitate therapeutic assessments, bespoke therapy intervention and maintain a high level of communication with professional networks. The therapy will occur weekly and range from short term packages of 10 sessions to longer term support of 30-60 sessions. You will manage your time effectively to provide written reports, chair therapy review meetings, and ensure a high level of safeguarding measures are in place. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will attend regular in-house training and group supervision to ensure best practice.
Requirements:
- Nationally recognised core qualification and registration with HCPC or equivalent;
- Evidence of working with children and young people with complex trauma;
- Passion for and commitment to the ethos, practice, and vision of the work of the KORU Project CIC;
- Excellent written and verbal communication;
- Courage, tenacity, warmth, creativity, and compassion.
