The Temporary Accommodation Assistant is a crucial member of the Housing Directorate, tasked with supporting the efficient management and utilization of temporary accommodation services. This role involves coordinating accommodation allocations, administering Housing Benefit requirements, maintaining accurate records, and providing guidance and support to service users facing housing challenges. This is a 6-month contract role with a local authority, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the community.

Coordinate the allocation and booking of temporary accommodation for service users in collaboration with the Temporary Accommodation Officer.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all temporary accommodation placements, moves, and vacancies.

Monitor occupancy levels to ensure effective use of temporary accommodation across the county.

Ensure service users are regularly residing in the provided accommodation and address any occupancy concerns.

Liaise with accommodation providers to secure suitable placements and ensure the availability of accommodation.

Experience working in a housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation, local authority, or customer service environment.

Experience providing administrative support and maintaining accurate records and databases.

Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.

Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to housing, administration, or customer services.

Working hours: 37 hours per week.

Location: King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR, United Kingdom.

Work pattern: 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.

Basic DBS clearance required.
