The Role
We are looking to appoint an experienced Contract Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of a roofing contract based in Redditch, working primarily with a local authority client.
This role will oversee roofing repairs and planned new roofing works, managing site teams, subcontractors, programmes, costs, compliance, and client relationships to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
· Overall management of a roofing contract covering reactive repairs and new roof installations.
· Surveying new works, reviewing drawings, measurements, and site conditions (including asbestos awareness and dilapidation records).
· Managing site teams and subcontractors, ensuring productivity, quality, and programme compliance.
· Acting as the primary point of contact for the local authority client, attending progress meetings and managing expectations.
· Monitoring programmes and adjusting resources as required, keeping senior management and the client informed.
· Managing material orders, waste disposal, plant and hire items, ensuring timely off-hire.
· Quality control of works, identifying and closing out snags prior to completion.
· Identifying and measuring variations.
· Overseeing health & safety compliance, including RAMS, inductions, site inspections, permits, PPE, and welfare.
· Ensuring accurate site reporting, photos, diaries, audits, and handover documentation.
· Completing handovers with both subcontractors and clients to ensure satisfaction and minimise post-completion issues.
Experience
· Proven experience in a Contract Manager or Senior Site Manager role within the roofing industry.
· Strong background in roofing repairs and new roof works.
· Demonstrable experience working with local authorities as a main client.
· Good commercial awareness, including variations, cost control, and subcontractor management.
· Strong knowledge of health & safety, construction compliance, and site management best practice.
· Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.
· Full UK driving licence.
· SMSTS (Desirable).
