Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Care Home Worker to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to residents within a residential care environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable setting, ensuring the wellbeing of all residents. Previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial duties, or hospital environments is desirable, but full training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals while working within a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily personal care routines, including hygiene and mobility support
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the care home, including bedrooms, communal areas, and bathrooms
- Follow strict health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
- Support with meal preparation and serving as required
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans (training provided)
- Record relevant observations and report any concerns regarding residents’ health or wellbeing
- Ensure all equipment and facilities are kept in good condition through regular cleaning and maintenance
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and team members to deliver personalised care
Skills
- Experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work or hospital settings is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the care environment
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to care settings
- Willingness to undertake training related to medication administration and resident care procedures
