Customer service and Administration Assistant
A varied customer service and administration role supporting customer enquiries by email and phone, while also working closely with teams across the farm site.
Terms:
- Reporting to Events & Marketing Manager
- 20 hours per week, worked across 5 days out of 7
- 10am until 2pm, including one weekend day
Salary:
- Starting salary £12.71 hour
- Holiday 5.6 weeks per year (no holiday can be taken during October half term)
Millets Farm Centre is looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused person to join our team. The role involves responding to customer enquiries by email and phone, providing administration support, helping with online bookings and online orders, and liaising with departments across the farm site to ensure customers receive accurate and timely information. This is not a solely desk-based role; the successful candidate will need to be comfortable moving around the site and may occasionally be asked to support other areas of the business during busy periods, which could include time on their feet and serving customers in functions, events and our restaurant. A professional and courteous manner, strong written communication skills, basic computer skills and a willingness to learn our booking and online systems are essential.
Key roles:
- Answer general phone enquiries using a professional and courteous manner
- Respond to email queries and online reviews using the appropriate tone of voice for the business
- Process booking amendments using our digital booking platform and according to our booking’s terms and conditions
- Process online orders, including vouchers and distribute to the appropriate departments when relevant
- Organise donation requests
- Collate basic spreadsheets and organise information
- Process the office post
- Completing any other office administration duties as required
- Support other areas of the business during peak times, which may include assisting customers on site

- Good communication skills
- Problem solving and the ability to use own initiative
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook
- Willingness to learn new systems
