First Class Day Nursery Ltd is a well-established childcare provider committed to providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children from birth to five years old. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Nursery Cleaner to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
The Role
As a Nursery Cleaner, you will play an important role in ensuring our nursery remains clean, hygienic, safe, and welcoming for children, staff, and visitors.
The usual working hours are 6:00pm–9:00pm, Monday to Friday, although we are happy to discuss alternative hours and working days with the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and maintain all areas of the nursery, including playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and staff areas.
- Clean and disinfect toys, furniture, equipment, and frequently touched surfaces to help prevent the spread of germs.
- Empty bins and manage waste safely and efficiently.
- Follow all relevant health and safety, hygiene, and cleaning procedures.
- Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used and stored safely, particularly in an environment with young children.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and report when stock needs to be replenished.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, hazards, or safety concerns to management promptly.
- Complete cleaning schedules and maintain accurate records of tasks undertaken.
- Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness throughout the nursery.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Experienced in commercial, school, nursery, or other professional cleaning environments (preferred).
- Knowledgeable about good hygiene and health and safety practices.
- Able to work independently and take pride in their work.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working around young children and within a childcare environment.
- A good communicator who can work effectively with the nursery team.
- Committed to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for children and staff.
