PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Team Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of production lines and production operatives, ensuring that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
The role will provide strong leadership and direction to production operatives, ensuring that teams are appropriately organised, motivated, trained and supported to meet production, quality and customer requirements.
The Team Manager will oversee the performance of the production lines, identify and respond to operational issues, and ensure that agreed procedures and standards are consistently followed.
The role will work closely with other Team Managers from Tockwith and Calverton and relevant support functions to maintain effective production operations and resolve issues that may impact safety, quality, efficiency or delivery.
MAIN DUTIES
- Lead, manage and motivate production operatives to achieve agreed production, quality and delivery targets.
- Organise and coordinate production operatives across the production lines to ensure effective staffing and workflow.
- Monitor production line performance and take appropriate action where targets, quality or efficiency standards are not being achieved.
- Ensure production operatives follow agreed working practices, procedures and company standards.
- Ensure production activities are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant Health & Safety requirements.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure that unsafe working practices are challenged and addressed promptly.
- Monitor the quality of production output and ensure that quality standards are consistently maintained.
- Identify and escalate faults, breakdowns or operational issues affecting production lines and work with the appropriate teams to ensure they are resolved promptly.
- Monitor production performance and communicate any issues, delays or resource requirements to the relevant manager.
- Ensure production areas and lines are maintained in a clean, organised and safe condition.
- Carry out routine checks of production lines, equipment and working practices.
- Support the implementation of improvements to production processes, working practices and line performance.
- Ensure production operatives receive appropriate training, instruction and support to carry out their roles effectively.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching and feedback to production operatives.
- Support the induction and training of new employees.
- Address attendance, performance, conduct and other employee matters in accordance with company procedures, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Conduct or contribute to regular performance reviews and agree appropriate objectives and development actions with team members.
- Complete required production, safety, quality and personnel records accurately and on time.
- Report accidents, near misses, production issues, quality concerns and maintenance requirements in accordance with company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other Team Managers and management functions to ensure consistent standards across production.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the effective operation of the production lines.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Team Manager will have primary responsibility for:

- Identifying and escalating production, equipment and resource issues
- Supporting continuous improvement across the production lines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience of supervising or managing production operatives within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Good understanding of production operations and the challenges associated with managing production lines.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Ability to organise and coordinate teams effectively to achieve production targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate, coach and develop production operatives.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to monitor production performance and take appropriate corrective action.
- Good literacy and computer skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a production environment.
- Knowledge and experience of safe working practices, including manual handling.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage changing production requirements.
- Previous experience of working to quality, production and operational standards.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
The successful candidate will be a visible and hands-on leader who is able to build strong working relationships with production operatives while maintaining clear expectations around performance, safety, quality and conduct.
They will be proactive in identifying problems, confident in making decisions and able to provide clear direction to production teams. They will lead by example and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement and safe working.
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Pay: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
