We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant General Manager to join our team at Blue Jasmine Wine & Tapasía – a vibrant restaurant and wine-led venue in the heart of Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to step up in your hospitality career and play a key role in delivering the outstanding guest experience Blue Jasmine is known for. Your working hour will be up to 45h a week.
The Role
As one of two Assistant General Managers, you’ll support in the smooth running of day-to-day operations, from service on the floor to team leadership and guest relations. You’ll be a natural host who thrives on making guests feel welcome, while also taking responsibility for organisation, problem-solving, and motivating the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operational running of Blue Jasmine day to day.
- Deliver warm, professional hospitality and build strong relationships with guests.
- Support with team management: training, motivating, and leading by example.
- Take responsibility for service and operations when on shift as duty manager
- Manage bookings and reservations using Dojo Bookings.
- Help maintain a positive, supportive workplace culture.
- Stay calm under pressure and resolve challenges quickly and effectively.
- Assist in monitoring guest feedback across Google Reviews, TripAdvisor, and social media, proactively providing solutions where required.
About You
- Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality.
- Bartending experience within a busy hospitality environment strongly preferred
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
- Passionate about delivering excellent hospitality and guest care.
- Flexible, adaptable, and cool under pressure.
- A good communicator with a sense of humour and a positive outlook.
- Commercially aware, with an interest in growing both the guest experience and the business.
- Familiarity with booking systems and guest feedback platforms.
