Learning Support Assistants – Temporary | Full-Time & Part-Time
We are currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to support students at a college in Peterborough on a temporary, ongoing basis.
There are multiple positions available, offering 28 to 35 hours per week, with immediate starts available for suitable candidates.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students throughout the college day, helping them access learning and develop their confidence, independence and skills.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting students in the classroom and during lessons
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting students with additional learning needs, including SEN
- Helping students with communication, behaviour and personal development
- Assisting teaching staff with day-to-day classroom activities
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
- Adapting support to meet individual students' needs
- Creating a positive, safe and supportive learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience working with SEN students is essential
- Experience supporting children or young people with varying degrees of learning needs
- Previous experience within a college, school or other educational setting is highly desirable
- A genuine passion for supporting students' education and development
- A patient, caring and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to remain calm and supportive when dealing with challenging situations
- The ability to adapt your approach to individual students' needs
- Candidates must be able to drive, as public transport links to the college are limited
