Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, contributing to the efficient handling of goods and materials. The ideal candidate must be able to drive a Reach forklift truck, will possess a strong work ethic and have attention to detail. Our hours of work are 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Our work environment is friendly and welcoming and we offer 25 days holiday per year plus all bank holidays (33 in total). We have free on site parking and free hot drinks available.
Duties
- To be involved in the safe and efficient receipt, storage, rotation and despatch of products.
- Handle materials safely and carefully, ensuring our customers receive product in perfect condition.
- Picking and packing of orders for shipping, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with goods inwards, verifying incoming shipments against documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse space.
- Using a computer to check stock levels and to prepare / print labels for carrier orders.
- Assist in the safe loading of goods on to our own delivery fleet.
- Serving customers at our trade counter, ensuring a professional and prompt service is always maintained.
Skills
- Previous warehouse experience with experience on a reach forklift truck, with an understanding of warehouse operations.
- Be able to lift heavy / awkward loads safely.
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality work.
