Job Summary
We are seeking a Fryer / chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items to the highest standards, ensuring quality and safety are maintained at all times. Responsibilities
- Operate fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food preparation.
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Cook food items, ensuring they are cooked thoroughly and presented attractively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the fryer station, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Deal with customers, take order and handle payments.
- Monitor food quality during cooking processes, making adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal results.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including proper handling of hot oil and equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or within a restaurant, chip shop environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices essential.
- Experience with meal preparation and kitchen operations highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of culinary techniques, especially frying methods.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary.
