We are looking for passionate, caring and resilient Children’s Residential Support Workers to join our dedicated team within a small 2-bedded residential home supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

About the Home
Our home provides a safe, stable and nurturing environment for children and young people who may have experienced trauma, disrupted attachments, emotional difficulties or behaviours that can be challenging.
We take a child-centred and trauma-informed approach, recognising that every child is different and requires patience, consistency and understanding.
Our goal is to help children feel safe, develop emotional resilience, build confidence and gain the skills they need to become more independent.
The Role
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Provide high-quality day-to-day care, support and supervision.
- Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with children and young people.
- Provide consistent boundaries, routines and expectations.
- Support children with emotional regulation and challenging behaviours.
- Use positive behaviour support and appropriate de-escalation techniques.
- Encourage independence, confidence and personal development.
- Plan and participate in activities, outings and positive experiences.
- Support education, appointments and contact arrangements where required.
- Assist with personal care and daily routines when necessary.
- Maintain accurate daily records, care notes and incident reports.
- Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and reviews.
- Work alongside social workers, education professionals, therapists and families.
- Promote safeguarding and always act in the best interests of the child.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming and homely environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent care.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for people who are genuinely passionate about helping children and young people and who understand the importance of patience, consistency and positive relationships.
You will ideally have:
- Experience working with children or young people in residential care, education, social care or a similar setting.
- An understanding of EBD, trauma, attachment and challenging behaviour.
- The ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A caring, patient and non-judgemental approach.
- The confidence to establish appropriate boundaries while remaining warm and supportive.
- A willingness to learn, develop and progress within the organisation.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Previous experience in children's residential care, EBD, trauma-informed care, SEN, youth work, education or social care is highly desirable.
