Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary experience, a strong understanding of food safety standards, and a flair for creating innovative menus. Duties
- Develop and plan diverse menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Oversee all food preparation and cooking activities to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
- Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimise waste and control costs
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and customer satisfaction
- Innovate new recipes and introduce seasonal or special dishes to enhance menu offerings
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with health & safety guidelines
- Assist in catering events and special functions as required
Skills
- Proven experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant management roles with a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations
- Extensive culinary expertise with a passion for creating high-quality dishes
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of kitchen staff
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Experience in meal preparation, food presentation, and serving in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house personnel
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands whilst maintaining attention to detail
