Drama and Music (AV) Technician
NJC Grade 6 SCP 9-12, Salary £25,052 – 26,288 per annum
37 hours per week – Term Time Only plus 4 Weeks
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic technician to support the day-to-day operation of our Drama and Music department. The successful candidate will have experience in setting up and operating lighting, sound, and multimedia equipment for lessons, assessments, rehearsals, and performances.
You will be a confident communicator, able to demonstrate the use of specialist equipment and operational techniques to both staff and students, while helping to ensure the smooth running of a wide range of performing arts activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Leaders of Learning for Drama and Music you will directly support teaching and learning across the department. This will include supporting individual students on a one-to-one basis to develop their skills in designing lighting or sound, including the programming and efficient operation of the associated equipment
- Work with a range of music, media and performing arts systems, preparing teaching areas and maintaining resources.
- Provide efficient and timely administrative, practical and technical support to the Music and Drama staff, supporting the departments with all aspects of teaching and learning.
- Work flexibly and constructively both as part of a team and under your own initiative, contributing to maintaining a positive and enabling environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will be technically skilled, organised, and enthusiastic, with experience of operating lighting, sound, and multimedia equipment. They will be able to communicate effectively with staff and students and support the successful delivery of lessons, assessments, and performances across the Drama and Music department.
