We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to deliver high‑quality residential care for elderly residents living with a range of needs, including dementia, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and complex health conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to person‑centred care.
Experience / Knowledge
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (required)
- Previous experience in a care or senior care role preferred
- Ability to support all aspects of personal care while promoting dignity and independence
- Confident in supervising and guiding junior care staff
- Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional boundaries
- Awareness of infection control, health & safety, and risk management procedures
- Experience with care planning and accurate record‑keeping (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting residents with daily personal care, mobility, and nutritional needs
- Leading shifts and supporting care staff to deliver safe, effective care
- Reviewing, updating, and following individual care plans
- Administering medication in line with training and organisational policies
- Maintaining accurate, concise, and up‑to‑date care records
- Supporting residents’ emotional, physical, and social wellbeing
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment at all times
- Acting as a point of contact for families, professionals, and external agencies
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
- Enhanced DBS check (or registration on the Update Service)
- Strong communication, empathy, and problem‑solving skills
- Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to high‑quality care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shift patterns
