Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Domestic Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home, helping to create a safe, pleasant, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 09:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)
- Work on weekends and public/bank holidays may be required depending on needs.
Duties
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks across resident rooms, communal areas, dining rooms, bathrooms, and offices.
- Ensure all cleaning duties are completed to the required standard and in line with infection control protocols.
- Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and effectively, following health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Empty bins, dispose of waste safely, and replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or appropriate person.
- Respect the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of residents at all times.
- Work flexibly as part of a team to meet the changing needs of the care home.
- Attend any training sessions as required to maintain compliance and enhance skills.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a cleaning role preferred, ideally in a care home, hospital, or similar environment.
- Understanding of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and infection control procedures (training will be provided if needed).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Friendly, respectful, and caring attitude towards older people and those living with dementia.
- Flexibility to work a rota that may include weekends and bank holidays, if required.
