Main Purpose of Post
Accountable to the Board of Directors, the Manager is responsible for working with the Board to ensure clear strategic direction and leadership of the organisation.
Main areas of responsibility
Developing the Organisation
- Providing leadership, direction and motivation for all staff and volunteers
- Ensure plans are in place for training and developing staff to build capacity, capability and to ensure continuity of the service during periods of absence
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with the Board of Directors
- Ensuring that effective, legally compliant human resource management solutions are in place and implemented, including maintaining policies and procedures
- Facilitating the recruitment of appropriately skilled staff
Developing Relationships
- Developing and maintaining effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders, for example the Moray Council and TSI Moray
- Acting as the “public face” of the organisation ensuring that a positive media profile is maintained
Finance
- Ensuring that all necessary monitoring and evaluation of finance is undertaken to ensure legal compliance.
- In conjunction with the Board, ensuring the proper strategic and day- to-day financial management of the organisation, including budgeting, risk management, monitoring and effective controls and the preparation of regular reports.
Management
- Ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the organisation are effectively and efficiently managed and conducted within the framework and timescales agreed by the Board.
Governance & Support to the Board
- Providing support to the Board to enable it to fulfil its duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the organisation
Other Tasks
· Undertake recruitment processes for staff and volunteers, ensuring all staff and volunteers are covered by a PVG Disclosure and appropriate insurance
· Support volunteers and staff in line with recommended good practice
· Promoting and publicising volunteering opportunities and the work of MHPS across Moray and attending networking events
· Co-ordination of DIY jobs
· Attending Board and Staff meetings and compiling and distributing meeting papers
· Maintaining the MHPS website, Facebook page and database
· Sourcing funding opportunities and completing applications
· Responsible Health and Safety compliance
· Any other duties as requested by the Board to support MHPS
Pay: £20.80 per hour
