Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Prior experience in restaurants or culinary settings is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff
- Ensuring the kitchen area remains clean, organised, and free of hazards throughout service
- Restocking supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Supporting the wider team with general cleaning duties within the restaurant
- Training provided for light food prep duties
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Contributing to a positive team atmosphere by maintaining professionalism and efficiency during busy periods
- Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with restaurant environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality services
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
