Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant environments. Prior experience in restaurants or culinary settings is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff
- Ensuring the kitchen area remains clean, organised, and free of hazards throughout service
- Restocking supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Supporting the wider team with general cleaning duties within the restaurant
- Training provided for light food prep duties
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Contributing to a positive team atmosphere by maintaining professionalism and efficiency during busy periods
- Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with restaurant environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and hospitality services
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
