Our volunteers are the heart of our organisation. Their compassion, commitment and generosity help us provide outstanding care and support to local people living with complex, progressive illnesses and to the people closest to them. We are now looking for an exceptional Volunteer Lead to help shape, grow and champion our volunteer community.

What you'll be doing
You'll be at the forefront of volunteering across the hospice by:

Leading the day-to-day delivery and development of our volunteer programme
- Attracting, recruiting and onboarding volunteers from diverse backgrounds
- Working with teams across the hospice to create rewarding volunteer opportunities
- Supporting and developing volunteers so they can thrive in their roles
- Building strong partnerships with local businesses, schools, community groups and volunteer networks.
- Promoting volunteering through events, campaigns and community engagement activities
- Championing an inclusive and positive volunteer culture
- Developing initiatives that recognise and celebrate volunteer contributions
- Monitoring volunteer engagement, retention and impact to continuously improve the volunteer experience
- Ensuring volunteer activities meet safeguarding, compliance and best practice standards.
- This role requires travel across all sites and attending events as required.
Who we're looking for
We're seeking a confident, enthusiastic and compassionate individual who can inspire others and build strong relationships across our organisation and community.
You'll bring:

Experience in volunteer management, community engagement, HR support or a similar role
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities
- A proactive, creative and solutions-focused mindset
- Knowledge of safeguarding, safer recruitment and volunteer management best practice
- The ability to influence, coach and support colleagues and volunteers
- A genuine passion for helping people and making a difference.
Experience within a hospice, healthcare or charity setting would be advantageous, but what matters most is your enthusiasm, commitment and alignment with our values.
