Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-School Cook to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals tailored to young children’s dietary needs. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks for preschool children in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Plan menus that incorporate a variety of nutritious ingredients while accommodating allergies or special dietary requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations at all times
- Serve meals in a friendly, welcoming manner that encourages positive eating habits and social interaction among children
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and kitchen equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Follow all health and safety procedures related to food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Collaborate with staff to coordinate meal times and assist with any special dietary requests or feeding assistance
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a commercial kitchen setting or restaurant environment desired
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Prior experience working with young children or in a preschool or childcare setting is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with meal planning, portion control, and serving techniques suitable for early childhood environments
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
