We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Forest School Practitioner to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire children through outdoor learning and play in natural environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging, safe, and educational experiences that build children’s development, confidence, and curiosity.
Prior experience in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education is highly desirable. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs. This position provides a rewarding environment for those committed to outdoor education and child development.

- Hold a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Have a good understanding of the EYFS and child development
- Are passionate about inclusive practice and supporting children with individual needs and differing abilities

- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Are motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic about early years education
The Role Includes
- Plan and deliver outdoor learning activities aligned with Forest School principles, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and age-appropriate
- Supervise children during outdoor sessions, maintaining a safe environment at all times
- Encourage children’s independence, confidence, and social skills through organised activities and free play
- Manage group dynamics effectively
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive learning experience
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and activities
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to and conduct risk assessments for outdoor activities
- Promote environmental awareness and respect for nature among children

Hours :
- Full time : 40 hrs - Monday – Friday ( 4 days of 5 days)
Salary: Dependant on qualification and experience.
Essential Requirements: -
Current DBS certificate & willing to sign up to the update service/ Clean criminal record
Paediatric First Aid certificate
Safeguarding children certificate
Applicants must have a good standard of spoken and written English in order to effectively support children’s learning, communicate with families and colleagues, and fulfil safeguarding and documentation responsibilities.
An ability to demonstrate responsibility and use your own initiative. Qualified applicants will also be required to have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS. Forest school qualification/experience would also be an advantage.
We are also looking for someone who....
- Has a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
- Is able to laugh at jokes they don't understand, or don't find funny!
- If a child requests that they be a captain of a pirate ship, they will be the best pirate captain they can be!
- Feels comfortable telling everybody in the same room as them that they are going to the toilet!
- Doesn't have to have the ability to be able to sing in tune but must have the confidence to sing out of tune in front of a crowd.
- Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.
- Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
- Must have a high level of comfort talking about bodily functions.
- Must have the ability to pretend to eat playdough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
- Must have the ability to read a ten-page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.
- Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
- Loves being outside come rain or shine!
